I'm ba-ack

Well, it HAS been a while, I must confess. And plenty's been going on. Most notably we've had another year of FILEX, the Fitness industry's trade show, and more recently, I attended a Sports Kinesiology short course. Fantastic to be in room of nearly 30 like-minded people for four days and share information while we learnt new stuff!
As an athlete, I personally used holistic Kinesiology regularly to reduce any time I spent injured, increase my recovery ability and also to very effectively sort through any emotional stresses. My Kinesiologist and Physiotherapist were asolutely the most effective practitioner team there could be for me: addressing both my mental and physical states which, as for most people, were highly interrelated. They both knew about each other, but didn't understand each other's trades.

Carl Montgomery, an Australian Sports Scientist , has integrated Sports Science and Holistic Kinesiology to create the Sports Kinesiology training that is now available.

There are short courses as well as the Diploma and Advanced Diploma streams of training. The short courses are a great way to introduce yourself to Kinesiology, and they teach a range of very useful add-on skills for people such as remedial massage therapists, personal trainers and physiotherapists. (I also think Sports Psychologists could gain a lot from these techniques). The Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses are designed for those who want to practice as full time Sports Kinesiologists. I also understand that a Degree course is being developed and will be available in the next few years. More info at www.sportskin.net

Cheers!
